Lactate Threshold Testing

During graded exercise an athlete’s lactate threshold (LT) coincides with the point at which the accumulation blood lactate is significantly greater than at rest. LH is a key predictor of submaximal performance, specifically by identification of the exercise intensity that an athlete can maintain for a long duration without experiencing fatigue. Collegiate and Professional-level athletes tend to reach LH lactate threshold at significant higher percentage of VO2 max. We use LH to help our athletes improve endurance performance and competitive strategy.

Lactate Threshold Testing Protocol – “What to expect”

In Synergy Athletic Synergy Solutions Performance lab, we determine an athlete’s lactate threshold by drawing blood at prescribed intervals during a VO2 max test or other personalized training regimen.
