FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What ages do you train?
Our Small Group Training programs are designed for youth and high school soccer players. Athletes are placed into groups based on age, experience level, developmental needs, and training goals to ensure an appropriate and challenging training environment.
How are groups assigned?
Every athlete begins with a Free Player Development Evaluation. During the evaluation, we assess technical ability, movement quality, athletic performance, training experience, and development goals. Based on this assessment, players are placed into the training group that best supports their long-term development.
What should players bring?
Players should arrive prepared to train with appropriate soccer attire, cleats or turf shoes, and a water bottle. Athletes should also bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, compete, and improve.
Can players try a session first?
Yes. New athletes are invited to participate in a Free Player Development Evaluation before enrolling in a training program. This allows players and families to experience our training environment while receiving professional feedback and a training recommendation.
How often should athletes train?
Training frequency depends on an athlete’s age, developmental stage, competitive level, and goals. Most players benefit from participating in Small Group Training one to two times per week in addition to their team training and competition schedule. Training recommendations are provided during the evaluation process.
What makes Small Group Training different?
Small Group Training provides a competitive learning environment while allowing for individualized coaching and feedback. Sessions are designed using principles of long-term athlete development and STRIKES™ Applied Sport Science to help players improve athletic performance, technical ability, decision-making, and confidence.
Is this team training?
No. Small Group Training is designed to complement a player’s team environment by providing additional development opportunities that focus on athletic performance, movement quality, decision-making, and individual growth. Players from different clubs and schools train together in a challenging and supportive environment.
What happens after the evaluation?
Following the evaluation, athletes receive a training recommendation based on their current abilities, developmental needs, and goals. Players are then placed into the Small Group Training program that best supports their long-term development and performance objectives.
